February was a fantastic month for The King’s Daughters Ministry. The month kicked off with the start of our Leap Into Giving Challenge. We are enormously grateful to all who participated! We hope you enjoyed this creative fundraiser and will join us for future fundraising events. Your small change will lead to big change in the lives of women and children.
The most exciting event of the month was the Grand Opening of The King’s Daughters Ministry Penny Thrift Store. The day was a bit rainy, but it didn’t keep Hallelujah Hippo and Princess Penny from greeting every shopper as they walked through the doors. The opening day was a success and the first weeks of operation have exceeded expectations. If you haven’t stopped by you are missing out on great bargains on clothes, furniture, home décor, kid’s items and so much more! Word on the street is that Hallelujah Hippo and Princess Penny will be out greeting folks again this Saturday, March 3rd!
The month of February also brought with it some long awaited and much anticipated news. The King’s Daughters Ministry is now officially a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We received notification of our approval exactly one year to the day from the date the paper work was submitted in 2011. All donations made in 2011 are retroactively tax deductible as a result of our approval! This is a huge step forward for the ministry and marks another milestone of God’s provision.
We are looking forward to the month of March as God continues to move the ministry towards opening doors to residence in the autumn of this year. Your prayers, volunteer time, and financial support are a blessing and encouragement. God is truly at work and we are eager to see how He will work each and every detail out.
