As of June 1st The King’s Daughters Ministry Penny Thrift Store will have a new manager, Mrs. Kelly Elizabeth Eggers! This is extremely exciting because Kelly is The King’s Daughters first paid employee! Her main duties will include over-all management of the store including marketing, sales, stocking, as well as volunteer recruitment, training, and scheduling. She has worked as a volunteer since opening day and has put countless hours into making the Penny Thrift a success. We value Kelly’s heart for the ministry, enthusiasm, solid dedication to Christ and His service, and genuine care for our beloved customers and donors. Kelly’s skills and experience makes her a great fit for the position and we are excited to have her on our team!
Would you like to know a bit more about Kelly?
Kelly comes to us from Michigan and is one of seven children! She is a city girl with a country girl’s heart. She was raised in church, but at fourteen stepped away from the faith. She was married at seventeen years of age to a man that became active in the Army. She has three children; Sarah a CNA, Rachel who is attending school to become a CNA, and Joshua who is active military in the Army.
Much of her life has been moving around and she has spent twelve years in different states (Louisiana, Kentucky, Georgia) as well as Germany for 3 ½ years. She was divorced in the early 90s, but by God’s grace re-married her best friend, Rick Eggers in 1994. He helped her raise 3 children and now they have the blessing of 6 grandchildren. God desires all of His children who stray to return to His loving kindness and during the process of the death of her mother God began dealing with her heart to return to Him. She did, along with her husband and graciously her children. A whole family turned around to the glory of God!
After a couple of years Kelly became very active in church ministry. Her family became active in altar work, banner making, and she began speaking at women’s meetings/churches. She took and helped design the church floats for parades. Kelly has experience teaching new convert classes, leading intercession group, and Sunday school on occasion as well as taking part in prison ministry for a year. She has taken part in worship team for tent meetings. Her artistic skills have been put to use decorating church floats for parades and in the baby blanket ministry for baby dedications and babies in the NICU. She is truly a multi-talented woman and we are so blessed to have her on-board with the King’s Daughters and we are even more thrilled to see how God will use her to help and heal hurting women!
Kelly moved to Charlotte, N.C. in October of 2011 to be closer to her husband’s work. Kelly was introduced The King’s Daughters Ministry by a good friend and sister in Christ.
She says, “I have found hurting women everywhere during my years of life and travel. It only seems right to be a part of the solution to help. It is after all what Jesus would do!”
