Rumor has it that God is up to something here at The King’s Daughters Ministry. Well we must confess IT IS TRUE!!! Our Lord is hard at work through His people as we take steps forward towards our vision to begin taking resident daughters by October of 2012.

This month, about 25 youths from the Hickory Grove Converge came to work in our courtyard, our children’s rooms, and to begin the first steps at clearing the 4,300 square feet of space set aside for our thrift store. THAT’S RIGHT… that rumor is true too! We hope to open The King’s Daughters Penny Thrift by the end of October THIS YEAR so stay tuned for upcoming announcements! All thrift store proceeds will go directly to the development and continuance of this ministry for hurting and troubled women and their children. Our research shows that it will be a good source of revenue with low overhead for the ministry. We are currently collecting items for the store so if you’ve “got stuff” we have a need for it (clothes, shoes, furniture, appliances, house wares, etc).
During the Converge event we were blessed to have Matt Reece and his band jam out some awesome worship! You can see them in the picture above standing in what will one day be our reception area. They filled the place as they lifted their voices to our Lord…the very first worship in this place but certainly not the last. Since that day, I have gone out to that area of the building many times and each time the memory of that sweet worship time has made me smile. Thanks guys 🙂
Last week, a group of about a dozen youth and adults came over from Stanley Pentecostal Holiness Church and continued the progress on our thrift store area by pressure washing and scrubbing walls to ready the for paint. They truly worked hard without complaint and were a fine example of doing all in the name of the Lord (Col. 3:17). A special thanks to Jasen Haney from Lucia Baptist Church for leading the group project!
I want to say thank you to all the young people and leaders that came out this month. I truly enjoyed and can still hear your laughter and your genuine excitement at God’s work here. We are praying for each one of you and look forward to continuing to laboring beside you in building the Kingdom of our God. We love you all!
Many blessings,
