Volunteer Services Coordinator
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Volunteer Services Coordinator functions as a member of the King’s Daughters Ministry Team to assist with the overall mission and vision of the organization. The Volunteer Services Coordinator works within the limitations of the organization’s resources utilizing a team approach. The Volunteer Services Coordinator works with the King’s Daughters Ministry Board Volunteer Liaison and/or office administration staff to assist in meeting the day-to-day needs of the organization related to Volunteer recruiting, training, retention, annual compliance and recognition. The Volunteer Services Coordinator participates in a team approach to assist in providing an integrative system of care to residents of the KDM program and events as well as assist in volunteer staffing needs throughout ministry.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in creating and maintaining processes and guidelines associated with utilization of Volunteers and Mentors for the King’s Daughters Ministry.
- Maintain the King’s Daughters Ministry Volunteer Database.
- Maintain an initial relationship with all Volunteers and foster initial engagement with volunteer activities
- Process all Volunteer and Community Service applications in a timely manner.
- Schedule Volunteer interviews with appropriate Department Heads.
- Assist in educating the Volunteers of the need for mandatory documentation on such forms as the Contact Information Form, Confidentiality Form, Volunteer Forms, Etc.
- Schedule, plan, teach and evaluate Volunteer and Mentor Training Sessions, maintaining all needed paperwork.
- Work in collaboration with KDM Ministry Team to develop new programs within KDM related to volunteer programming, donation pick-up & corporate volunteer activities.
- Work closely with KDM Ministry Team to ensure volunteer members interested or possessing desired skill set for committees are acquainted and committee engagement is fostered.
- Update Annual Volunteer Policy, Procedure, Guideline reviews with all Volunteers and Mentors and update annual background checks, confidentiality agreements, driver’s license and insurance forms.
- Manage volunteer in-kind donations to include Thank You Notes.
- Process Contact Information Forms within 12 hours of the activity.
- Complete Staff Daily Notes prior to the end of each week to include hours worked for Payroll purposes
- Participates in required board meetings and staff training as requested.
- Other duties needed for KDM as requested by the supervisor.
Reporting of Time:
- Records and reports hours worked on a weekly basis via Online KDM Time Card. The Volunteer Services Coordinator will manage time effectively to ensure availability throughout the entire work week and should not work more than 15 hours per week without advance approval of designated supervisor. The Volunteer Service Coordinator’s position allows for flexible scheduling and it is the responsibility of such employee to evaluate the weekly priority needs and schedule time accordingly. - Reading, preparing and sending emails related to the King’s Daughters Ministry.

Education and Experience:
- Demonstrated deep understanding of and commitment to Christ and a passion for seeing KDM target population develop faith in Christ.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Ability to remain calm in stressful emotional situations.
- Commitment to respectful, open colleague communications.
- Be at least 25 years of age.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Sensitivity to sexual exploitation, domestic violence and addictions.
- Experience in working with variety of age groups.
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- Ability and willingness to work irregular hours.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills both written and electronic.
- High school diploma or GED and some college preferred, valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and be able to pass a background check. Prefer some education and experience in psychology, social work, human-services field and event organization. Helpful to have a degree and/or experience in women’s studies/ministry or related field.
