How You Can Help
Penny Thrift Store Volunteers
Penny Thrift volunteers assist in many areas of the store operations including greeting & assisting customers, tidying & stocking the shelves, pricing merchandise and running the cash register. Volunteers are needed Monday thru Saturday 9:00am – 4:00pm and evenings as needed. Volunteer a few times a week or as little as once per month, usually in half day or whole day shifts.
Ministry Partners
Commit to a monthly financial pledge of any amount. With prayerful stewardship, these donations are used for a variety of ministry needs. See the donation envelope enclosed with our brochure. To become a Church Ministry Partner we ask for your church to pledge $1 per month per person attending regular worship services.
Resident Advocates
The main function of the Resident Advocate (RA) is to provide KDM personnel presence at the home where resident daughters live. We have four shifts available: morning shift, afternoon shift, dinner shift. RAs also serve as transportation providers and chaperones for appointments, outings, and events. Volunteers are needed 7 days a week at all hours. Volunteer a few times a week or as little as once per month. A minimum 3-hour training session is required prior to serving in this position.
Community Involvement Advocate
Serve as a ministry liaison with your church or organization. Examples: host and promote approved fundraising projects; encourage your group to collect items from our needs list; lead a sorting event at our warehouse; talk to your church leadership about becoming a Church Ministry Partner; or contact our office to have a representative speak at your next event.
